Confronting the Challenges of Access

Session Description

True to the very philosophy of public recreation is the idea that all people – no matter ethnicity, age, income level, sexual orientation, gender, religion or ability – have access to programs, facilities, places and spaces that make their lives and communities great. Creating a welcoming and safe environment in which all individuals can trust and communicate with community recreation providers is one way that recreation promotes and elevates inclusion.

Recreation truly build communities – communities for all.

Together, Recreation Nova Scotia and Communities, Culture and Heritage are hosting a Summit on Confronting the Challenges of Access on October 24, 2018 at Oak Island Resort and Conference Centre to address inclusion, welcoming and safe spaces, promising practices and partnership frameworks.

This professional development and networking event will strengthen your understanding and knowledge and provides opportunities for you to (re)connect with your colleagues from around the province. Together, we will examine important issues, explore new initiatives, and fill ourselves up with renewed energy and ideas to apply to our communities.
