Event Volunteers - Defeat Duchenne Canada
Defeat Duchenne Canada is seeking volunteers to support therapeutic recreation activities for kids and teens living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and their siblings, at the 10th Family Forum in Halifax NS, on October 3-4, 2026.
This is an opportunity to:
- Gain hands-on experience working with individuals with diverse needs
- Network with community organizations and companies bringing adaptive technology, devices, and programming to the East Coast
- Connect with healthcare professionals from the IWK Health Centre, Stan Cassidy Kids Rehabilitation Centre, and other leading clinics and hospitals across Canada
- Build community with families and young people who will benefit directly from your support
Details:
- Dates: October 3-4, 2026
- Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day
- Location: Downtown Halifax, NS
- Onboarding provided prior to event programming
- An honorarium will be provided plus a written reference acknowledging your volunteer hours
- Deadline to apply: September 18, 2026 by noon
