Dear Partners:
You are invited to participate in our ParticipACTION Partner Forum taking place on April 21, 2010 from 1:00pm - 2:30pm (EST). The focus for our April forum will be Advocacy/Policy.
The forum will feature Ian Bird, Senior Leader of the Sport Matters Group who will provide an overview of the types of advocacy in which we, as a sector, can participate. Ian will discuss its importance, related to policy development and change and current efforts taking place related to physical activity and sport. The forum will also feature the following speakers:
• Stephen Samis, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
• World Wildlife Fund of Canada (speaker to be confirmed)
• Frank Prospero, Active Halton and the Recreation and Parks Department, Town of Halton Hills
Given your mandate, we believe this forum will provide you with new and relevant information as well as with practical examples that support your work.
ParticipACTION Partner forums are designed to facilitate knowledge exchange and sharing between participating partners as well as provide the opportunity to connect, share insights and potentially collaborate on future initiatives. The forums are free of charge, however, the forums will be held in English only, at this time, and access to phone and web are required to participate.
If you would like to participate in the April 21st Partner Forum or learn about upcoming Partner Forum dates and themes, please contact Sarah Newham at snewham@participACTION.com
