Description

The Resource Opportunity Centre (ROC) is a community based organization dedicated to connecting communities and creating opportunities through recreation, information sharing and technology. Since its inception in 1998, the ROC has been providing programs and services to serve the recreation and technological needs of residents living in the Prospect area through its C@P site operation, delivering summer programs, computer workshops, festivals, and socials for all ages, and has significantly contributed to building a strong community by connecting the public from Goodwood to West Dover through the development of www.prospectcommunities.com.

In the spring of 2007, the ROC was approved as the manager for the new Prospect Road Community Centre (PRCC); a project realized by a Steering Committee made up of dedicated community volunteers and Halifax Regional Municipality. The PRCC is a state of the art facility being built to LEED silver standards which will serve youth, adults, and seniors alike, further continuing to meet the recreation and service needs of the community as a whole.
