You are invited to participate in our ParticipACTION Partner Forum taking place on February 24, 2010 from 1:00pm - 2:30pm (EST). The focus for our February forum will be Canadian Sport for Life. Canadian Sport for Life is a movement to increase sport's contribution in Canadian society recognizing sport as an important part of everyone's life by promoting each child's healthy and logical development in a sport or physical activity.
The forum will feature Dr. Colin Higgs who will provide an overview of Canadian Sport for Life and the Long Term Athlete Development Model. He will outline the importance of sport for all ages and stages as it relates to both healthy life long enjoyment for sporting success. The forum will also feature the following speakers who will discuss the ways in which they have incorporated Canadian Sport for Life into their work or for the purposes of supporting leaders working with children and youth:
• Andrea Grantham, PHE Canada
• L.J. Bartle, High Five
• Alain Lefebvre, Fédération de natation du Québec
• André Lachance, Baseball Canada
Given your mandate, we believe this forum will provide you with new and relevant information as well as with practical examples that support your work.
ParticipACTION Partner forums are designed to facilitate knowledge exchange and sharing between participating partners as well as provide the opportunity to connect, share insights and potentially collaborate on future initiatives. The forums are free of charge, however, the forums will be held in English only, at this time, and access to phone and web are required to participate.
