About Take Me Outside Week
Take Me Outside Week is organized through Recreation Nova Scotia in partnership with Sense of Wonder Environmental Education and the Sharing Nature Foundation. It is generously supported by the IWK Community Grants and Mountain Equipment Co-op.
Take Me Outside Week is part of a larger Back to Nature project run through Recreation Nova Scotia meant to increase capacity among volunteers and professionals that make up the recreation delivery system and invite other stakeholders, such as parents, to become involved in a growing “back to nature” movement.
The goal of Take Me Outside Week is to:
1.To encourage the addition or expansion of nature and environmental education programming and activities among organizations as well as individuals and families
2.To engage parents and caregivers in exposing their children and youth to nature experiences and activities
