Have you ever wondered how to maximize positive outcomes for youth in groups?

Games, initiatives, and activities are excellent ways to actively engage youth in positive group experiences. This two day workshop will build a deeper understanding of effectively moving groups through the stages of group development by facilitating fun, active and appropriate games and initiatives. This workshop will explore group development theory and provide concrete activities that are exciting, active and challenging for young people. Topics covered will include:

• Conflict resolution
• Games
• Team building initiatives
• Safety and healthy risk taking
• Engaging physical activities for all youth
• Preventing disengagement

Participants will experience these activities first-hand and be provided with the strategies and knowledge of when and how to use them. We will address how to consider the many issues youth face including physical, mental and emotional challenges. A take-home activity resource will be provided.

For more information and to register please contact HeartWood at (902) 444-5885 or email Adrianna MacKenzie at adrianna@heartwood.ns.ca
