Cape Breton Island Pathways Association seeking Pathways Coordinator

Pathways Coordinator
Cape Breton Island Pathways Association is a non-profit organization focused on developing sustainable recreational trails on Cape Breton Island. Its role is to assist community groups in the planning, funding, development and construction of land based trails and waterways projects on Cape Breton Island.

The Position
The coordinator will report to the board of directors and will have the overall responsibility for the strategic, programming and financial operations of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and evaluation of the action plan including all Pathways programs and projects. He /She will hire & oversee staff, develop partnerships with trail users, communities, business and government, develop and implement communications, fundraising and marketing strategies. Provide leadership in creating long-term goals and strategic planning and work with the BOD to ensure professional financial controls and reporting systems are in place.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will be creative, strategic, innovative, energetic, and a proven team player with excellent communication and public speaking skills. She/He must possess visionary leadership skills as well as strong management skills including organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask and flexibility of hours. The successful candidate will have knowledge of and a commitment to trail development.

The ideal candidate will have a business degree/ diploma and /or 3 years in managing people and programs. A complete job description will be available to canditates selected for an interview.

This position involves part-time/full-time employment.
