You are invited to the 3rd Annual Kenomee Canyon Hike in the 6,120 hectare Economy River Wilderness Area. The 18 km trail treks along the edge of the Economy River gorge, through natural spruce and hardwood forest. Along the trail you will have an opportunity to view three waterfalls and a lake. The event is a challenging full day hike and is most suitable for adults. Be prepared to get wet.

Life can be a challenge in the intertidal zone the plants and animals that live there are specially adapted for this marine habitat. Rockweed hides crabs and sea stars, while stunted shrubs and trees cling to the thin soil. More than half a billion years of geological stories are told by the landscape, quartzite bedrock, and glacial features.

There will be educational demos for those who want to learn, and games for those who are more experienced. This event is for anyone who enjoys the outdoors and if you would like to hike the trails at Uniacke Park.
